Songwriter Rafferty sang “Heart Full of Love” at the auditions of Songland 2019 (Season 1).
Songland producers and judges Ester Dean, Ryan Tedder and Shane McAnally as well as musical guest Leona Lewis loved the song.
Leona describe the lyrics as “universal” and said she loves it that Rafferty “isn’t scared to be vulnerable.” She said she’s pretty much vulnerable in her songs so she can see herself singing those lyrics. But she just wonders where it could go melodically for her to use all the parts of her voice.
The producers tweaked some lines of Rafferty’s song, and its title was changed to “When You Fall In Love.”
At the end of the episode, Leona chose a song by Rozee titled “Solo Quiero (Somebody to Love)” by Rozee for her Songland Selection. (See: Leona Lewis Songland Selection)
