American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift (age 29) wowed everyone with her performance of ‘You Need to Calm Down’ and ‘Lover’ at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMA 2019).
Taylor Swift was the most nominated artist at the VMA, with 12 nominations. She won three awards, namely Video of the Year and Video for Good for “You Need to Calm Down”, and Best Visual Effects for “Me!” (featuring Brendon Urie of Panic! at the Disco). Visual Effects for the latter were created by Loris Paillier and Lucas Salton for BUF VFX.
The MTV VMA was hosted by Sebastian Maniscalco and was held at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, on August 26, 2019.
