Blacklight painter Alex Dowis (age 40) from the Czech Republic, painted a glowing art piece about human evolution during the quarterfinals of America’s Got Talent 2019.
Painting in total darkness, Alex started off with the Big Bang, while theoretical physicist and cosmologist Stephen Hawking’s voice played in the background. Alex then painted a dinosaur, apes, amazing flora and fauna, and present-day man immersed in new technology.
His performance gained a standing ovation from the audience and judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Julianne Hough, and Gabrielle Union.
Simon Cowell said he didn’t get goosebumps this time since it felt more like being a science museum, but he acknowledged that Dowis had a unique talent.
Gabrielle Union disagreed and said that Dowis’ art was not only educational and aspirational but actually inspired the whole audience. She said, “It was mankind, it was beautiful.”
Howie Mandel said Alex Dowis’ performance was amazing since Alex showed how to tell the history of the world in 2 minutes.
Alex Dowis got through the semifinals along with Ansley Burns, Greg Morton, Messoudi Brothers, Voices of Service, Luke Islam and Kodi Lee.
