The R&B singer, R. Kelly (age 52), has been arrested in Chicago on federal s** crime charges on July 11, 2019.
R. Kelly was arrested by New York police detectives and investigators from the Department of Homeland Security. He will be taken to New York.
Further details about R. Kelly’s arrest are expected to be announced on July 12, 2019.
R. Kelly has been accused of s**ual abuse allegations since 1998. He has always denied all the allegations against him.
Back in February 2019, R. Kelly was charged with aggravated s**ual abuse in Illinois involving four women. Three of those women were said to be minors when they were allegedly abused by R. Kelly. He pleaded not guilty.
Meanwhile, according to court documents in May 2019, R. Kelly was charged with 11 more counts of s**ual assault and s** abuse.
But since the release of a documentary series titled “Surviving R. Kelly”, the allegations of s**ual misconduct against R. Kelly gained renewed interest.
The R. Kelly documentary, “Surviving R. Kelly”, is a six-part Lifetime documentary detailing s**ual abuse allegations against American singer R. Kelly (real name: Robert Kelly). It aired over three nights, from January 3 to January 5, 2019. R. Kelly denied all of the allegations.
Back in 2008, R. Kelly was acquitted by a Cook County, Illinois jury, of child p**nography charges from a video which according to prosecutors showed R. Kelly having s** with a young girl who at that time was only 13 years old. The said young girl denied that it was her in the video. She also didn’t testify against R. Kelly.
