Asia’s Got Talent 2019 winner is close-up magician Eric Chien of Taiwan. In second place is “human calculator” Yaashwin Sarawanan of Malaysia, followed by the contemporary acrobatic dancers “Power Duo” of the Philippines.
When his win was announced by hosts Alan Wong and Justin Bratton, Eric Chien became emotional and vowed to create more amazing magic in the future.

Magician Eric Chien was an early favorite in the competition ever since he made coins appear and disappear during his audition.
Chien said he has been a magician for the past 10 years and started in his high school year, when one of his friends taught him a simple trick. When he performed that trick in front of his other friends and their reactions were amazing, Chien never stopped doing magic tricks since then.

Eric Chien says he only specializes in close-up magic. His heroes among magicians are Lu Chen, Penn & Teller, David Copperfield, David Blaine, and Criss Angel.
Prior to joining Asia’s Got Talent 2019, he was crowned the winner of the International Federation of Magic Societies (FISM) Magic World Championship in 2018. The said event is held once every 3 years.
For his semi-final performance on Asia’s Got Talent 2019, Chien performed the act “Ribbon”, which he also did as his Grand Prix Act at the Magic World Championship. A video of his Grand Prix act has gained almost 5 million views on his YouTube channel.

During the Asia’s Got Talent Grand Finals, Chien introduced an act which he said he has never done before. He used Rubik’s cubes and colorful candies for his final performance.
