A 16-year-old from Conway, South Carolina sang an impressive cover of “Foolish Games” by American singer-songwriter Jewel on The Voice Season 16 (2019) Blind Auditions.
Though the audience cheered while she sang, it was only Blake Shelton who turned his chair for her. And he couldn’t believe why the other judges didn’t.
The other judges praised her voice just the same.
Adam Levine said, “Well, Cecily, I think that we’re all kind of losing our minds right now.”
Blake interrupted with, “No. Not this one. Not this one (pointing to himself).”
Adam continued his comment for Cecily. “I think you’re awesome. And uh, I have nothing to say for myself. I’m ashamed.”
John Legend commented, “Your voice is like developed beyond your years. The main key for you is just showcasing that powerful instrument that you have, and you’re gonna do great on the show.”
For her part, judge Kelly Clarkson said, “Is that what you kind of wanna do the singer-songwriting thing? ‘Cause that was really a rad pick. I can’t wait to see what you do with Blake. I’m kind of glad that you’re on his team, ’cause it’s so weird.”
Blake Shelton gave the last comment for Cecily: “I don’t know that you know what you’re capable of vocally, because you kept taking it to the next level. And we got to find the songs that we can blow the roof off this place with, ’cause I know you can do it.”

“The Battles Premiere” of The Voice will air Mondays on March 25, April 1, and 8; and on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 8:00 P.M. ET on NBC.
