When the creator of a virtual reality world called the OASIS dies, he releases a video in which he challenges all OASIS users to find his Easter Egg, which will give the finder his fortune.
This 2018 American science fiction film is produced and directed by Steven Spielberg, and written by Zak Penn and Ernest Cline, based on Cline’s 2011 novel of the same name.
The film takes place in 2045, and follows the story of orphaned teenager Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) who discovers clues to a hidden game within the program that promises the winner full ownership of the OASIS. He joins several allies to try to complete the game before a large company run by businessman Nolan Sorrento (Ben Mendelsohn) can do so.
“Ready Player One” has grossed over $582 million worldwide.
