The musical romantic drama film “A Star is Born” which top bills Lady Gaga (age 32) and Bradley Cooper (age 43) has earned more than $263 million worldwide, a month after its release date of October 5, 2018.
Despite the entry of the musical biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody”, (which had a $3.9 million opening) Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s remake of the 1937 film is still holding strong at the box office.
On its 5th Friday, “A Star is Born” had $3.15 million earnings, bringing its domestic gross to $157.6 million.
In comparison, the American superhero film “Venom” earned $1.97 million on its 5th Friday, bringing its domestic total to $192.8 million and its worldwide gross to $514.9 million.
With its current box office trajectory, Forbes‘ box office analysis is anticipating that “A Star is Born” will surpass the earnings of “Fifty Shades of Grey” ($166 million) very soon.
“A Star is Born” will likely end up in 4th place among romantic dramas following “Pearl Harbor”, “Ghost”, and the biggest romantic drama,”Titanic”, which has a domestic lifetime gross of $659.3 million to date.
